Geological properties

Labradorite is a feldspar mineral belonging to the plagioclase series, primarily composed of sodium calcium aluminium silicate. It is well known for its stunning optical effect called labradorescence, where light reflects off internal layers, producing vibrant colours like blue, green, gold, and sometimes red. Labradorite forms in igneous rocks, particularly in mafic and ultramafic types, such as basalt and gabbro. It can also occur in metamorphic rocks. The most notable deposits are found in Canada, Finland, Madagascar, and Russia.

Metaphysical properties

Labradorite is known for its protective and mystical qualities. It is believed to enhance spiritual awareness and intuition, helping to reveal the true nature of life and open the third eye. Labradorite is often used to strengthen the aura, protect against negative energy, and stimulate psychic abilities. This stone is also thought to ignite the imagination and encourage transformation, making it a powerful tool for personal and spiritual growth.
